League Rules
League Officials
Commissioner: Soapyfrog
Assistant Commish: Evil Bob
Web Master: Soapyfrog
- The Living Rulebook is used in its entirety, except where noted in the
House (League, Season, and Post-Season) rules
- Matches will be played FTF with the board game and miniatures or using
JavaBowl, whatever is acceptable to both players
- If using Javabowl, a player eligible for handicap may roll on the modified
handicap table found here
- If the opposing coach is shown to have failed to adhere to the conditions
of any handicap applied against him, he must concede the match
- The four minute turn time limit is not enforced, but recommended
[1] New Teams
- Starting cash for new teams will be 1 Million Gold Coins
- All teams from the Official LRB Team Lists can be used
[2] Retiring Teams & Players
- Coaches who wish to start a new team mid-season may only do so if their
existing team is unable to field at least 7 players for their next match
- A team may change coaches as long as the new coach is not currently or has
not previously been coaching another team in the same league in the same
season
- Players with 51 SPP or more who belong to teams that are permanently
retired or who leave a team for any reason (e.g. concession of a match) become
"free agents" and may
join the list of official Star Players available to be freebooted at a price
established by the league board of commissioners
- Players with 51 SPP or more may become free agents (as above) instead of
assistant coaches when their coach retires them, at their coach's option
[3] Scheduling and Playing
- It is up to the team's coaches to schedule and play their opponent,
designated by the season or post-season (playoff or exhibition) schedule
- It is up to the team's coaches to designate proxy coaches to play their
teams should they be unavailable to play during the scheduled week, otherwise they
must concede
- Both coaches must email all results from any scheduled league match played
(in the case of JavaBowl all the files in the "results" folder that pertain to
the match) to the League Commissioner at
admin@soapyfrog.net
- Match results must be submitted to the commissioner via email by the final
day of the week. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture (counts as a loss)
by both teams
- Any coach that forfeits three matches in one
season shall be disqualified from further play for that regular season and any
post season competitions
- League points will be scored as follows: A team will score 3 league points
for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss
- League point ties will be broken first by
most wins, then by most points acquired within conference, then by most wins
within conference, then by points vs tied team
- Any disputes not settled amicably between coaches will be summarily ruled
on by the Board of Commissioners after fair hearing
- Rigged games are punishable by
forfeiture of winnings, SPP, and league point gained by the match
- A "Rigged" game is any game where
the two coaches conspire to arrange for a particular result to come to pass,
e.g. to guarantee victory for one side or the other, or to fix the score a
particular way, or to specifically allow each other to gain easy SPPs for
specific players
- Gentlemen's agreements, for example
(but not limited to) agreeing to forego fouling, or requesting/granting mercy
for/to an already smashed team, will be permitted within reason
- The commissioners will make final
rulings for any games which are suspected of being rigged
[4] Major Surgery
- After the post-season and before the
start of the next regular season, each team may pay for ONE major surgery
maximum
- Major surgery may be used to remove
one niggling injury from a given player
- The cost to the team for this
surgery is: (player orginal cost + (player SPP/10 x 20k))/2
- For SPP value round to the nearest
10k
- e.g. HarryPalms (dwarven
runner, 57SPP) would cost (80k + (57/10 x 20k))/2 = 100k gc to have major
surgery
- PROCEDURE:
Roll 1 die 6 for the success of the major surgery:
1-3 Success
4-5 Failure
6
Critical Failure
Success: player loses 1 niggling injury
Failure: no effect
Critical Failure: player must
immediately on the following table and apply the result. The apothecary may
NOT be used to mitigate the result.
1-5 Serious injury*
6
Death**
* roll on the serious injury table and apply the result, victim must miss
first game of the coming season
** uuh... the operation a success, but the patient DIED!
- Regardless of the outcome of the
surgery, the team must pay the full cost
[5] Loans
- Loans must be applied for by contacting the Loanshark at
loanshark@soapyfrog.net
- When requesting a loan, state amount needed and after how many games the
principal will be repaid
- Loan Interest Rate is set by the Loanshark, interest must be paid after
each game that the principal is not repaid in full
- A team may have only one outstanding loan at any time
- Loans are exclusively handled during the post and inter-match periods
- Outstanding loan principle adds it's value to the team rating of the debtor
team
- Failure to pay the interest or principal of a loan to the loanshark in a
timely manner may result in increasingly severe penalties, up to and including
permanent damage and death to members of the affected team
- The debtor will be made aware of all die rolls relating to resolution of
the loan process (i.e. copied on all relevant dice roller emails)
