Post-Season Rules - DragonBBL I
POST-SEASON
STRUCTURE:
- The
four top teams (rated by regular season points) from each conference will be
allowed to play in the DragonBowl playoff tournament.
- The remaining
teams from each conference will be allowed to play in the Soapy Consolation
Cup playoff tournament.
- The
four
top teams in the BuBBL Spike! Invitational Tourney will be allowed to
play in the Spike! Magazine playoff tournament.
- Team 1
is the team with the most regular season points, Team 8 is the team with the
least.
- Any
disqualification will result in all teams below the disqualified team moving
up one spot in the standings
- A resulting
vacancy in a playoff spot will give the opposing team a by to the next round
- All
post-season trophies will be awarded officially when the post-season is
complete
- All teams that do are not participating in a playoff tournament or that
are eliminated from such tournaments may play up to three official exhibition
matches. No team may play more than three playoff and/or exhibition
matches total in the post-season period.
- Any players with major injuries incurred
during the last game of the regular season are assumed to have recovered
enough to play at the start of the post-season

The DragonBowl Trophy
- The winner of the Final match of the DragonBowl playoff tournament wins
the DragonBowl Trophy
- The DragonBowl Trophy is worth:
- The winnings from both sides of the Allstar
ProBowl will be paid to the League
- This amount will be held in escrow by the
League and paid out to the holder of the DragonBowl as tribute
- The League will pay out an additional award
equal to the number of teams in the league x 10,000gc as an additional award
(currently 160,000gc)
- A permanent +5 increase in Fan Factor
- The winning team will thereafter will gain
10,000gc extra per match played while the DragonBowl is in their possession
- The winning team will thereafter gain 1 team
re-roll while the DragonBowl is in their possession
- The loser of the Final match of the DragonBowl playoff tournament wins the
following:
- A fixed award of 100,000gp
- A permanent +3 increase in Fan
Factor
The Soapy Cup Trophy
- The winner of the Final match of the Soapy Consolation Cup playoff
tournament wins the Soapy Cup Trophy
- The Soapy Cup Trophy is worth:
- A fixed award of 60,000gp
- One bonus randomly determined MVP award
- A permanent +2 increase in Fan Factor
- The loser of the Final match of the Soapy Consolation Cup playoff
tournament wins the following:
- A fixed award of 30,000gp
- A permanent +1 increase in Fan
Factor
The Spike! Magazine Trophy
- The winner of the Final match of the Spike!
Magazine playoff tournament wins the Spike!
Magazine Trophy
- The Soapy Cup Trophy is worth:
- A fixed award of 200,000gp
- A permanent +1d6 increase in Fan Factor
- The loser of the Final match of the Spike!
Magazine playoff tournament wins the following:
- A fixed award of 100,000gp
SPECIAL PLAYOFF RULES:
These Rules apply only to teams eligible for a playoff tournament
[1] No Debt
- A team
that is not able to resolve any outstanding debts before the start of playoffs
is disqualified.
[2] No Loans or Bribes
- During the
playoff period, participating teams may not give/receive loans or bribes
to/from any other team or entity.
[3] No Betting
- A team
involved in any playoff tourney may not place bets.
[4] Overtime
- In the event
of a draw at the end of regulation time, overtime must be played until a
winner is decided
- Overtime
consists of a full 8 turns of play - there is no sudden death
- Only re-rolls
unused at the end of the 2nd half may be used in overtime
- If at the end
overtime, no winner has been decided there is a penalty shootout
- The shootout
consists of each team rolling a d6 and adding their remaining re-rolls -
highest roll wins the match
- Penalty
shootout rolls must be made immediately post match on the dice server (before
closing JBB), with results labelled "penalty shootout [roll number] [teamname]"
and sent to both coaches and
admin@soapyfrog.net
- Ties are
re-rolled until a winner is determined
[5] No Concessions

Conceding is not permitted unless the team in question cannot field the three
minimum players necessary.
[6] Roster Freeze
- A team
involved in the playoffs may not purchase new players except to replace dead
players with a player of the same position or with a cheaper player if
insufficient funds are available.
- A team may
purchase new players in order to bring their roster to 11, in the event the
team started the playoffs with less than 11 players
- Rerolls may
not be purchased during the playoffs
- Assistant
Coaches and Cheerleaders may not be purchased (although players may still be
retired to add Assistant Coaches)
- Players and
Star Players may still be freebooted at will.
EXHIBITION MATCH
RULES:
No team may play more than three playoff and/or
exhibition matches total in the post-season period.

Challenges
- A coach
that is not in a playoff tournament may challenge another coach also not in a
playoff tournament to an exhibition match.
- Each coach
must have played (or committed to playing by accepting challenges) less than 3
post-season matches, including play-off matches, before the challenge can go
through
- The
challenged coach may agree in which case a normal bloodbowl match is played
with all current season rules in effect
- The
challenged coach may refuse in which case no match is played
- The
challenged coach may ask another coach to substitute if that coach has played
less than three matches as above
- The
challenger must then agree or refuse to play, as above and no further
substitutions are permitted
- The
challenger is always the visitor team and the challenged is always the home
team
[2] How to Challenge
- A Challenge
Forum will be set up on the DragonBBL Forums
- In order to
issue a challenge simply post in that forum with a topic "Challenger -
Challenged"
- Challenges
must be answered in the order they are delivered, with the earliest challenges
being answered first
[3] New teams
- New
Teams that a coach has committed to playing the next season of DragonBowl will
be permitted to play official exhibition games in the current post-season
period
- These new
teams may challenge or be challenged by any eligible team in the league in the
current post-season
- A coach
currently playing in a playoff tournament may also play exhibition matches
with a new team he intends to play in the following season, but his old team
is barred from exhibition play and cannot be used for the next season (except
if transferred to the control of another coach)
