League
Structure - DragonBBL II
- The League will remain split into the two conferences, Dragon and Frog
- Each Conference will be split into Division A and Division B
- Teams will play each team in it's own Conference (same Division) twice and
each team from the other Conference (same Division) once
- Division A teams will never play Division B teams except for possible
exhibition matches in the post-season
- Division A will compete for the DragonBowl
- Division B will compete for the Soapy Cup (which will be enhanced)
- Each Division will also have conference winner and playoff runner up
awards
Determination of Division/Conference Rank
after DragonBBL I
- All trophy winners (DragonBowl, Soapy Cup, and Spike! Trophy) will
be placed in A Division (3 teams)
- Excluding the trophy winners, the best four teams from each of Frog and
Dragon Conference based on Season I League Points will be placed in A Division
(8 teams)
- Excluding the trophy winner, the best team from the Spike! Invitational
Tourney based on Season I League Points will be placed in A Division (1 teams)
- If a team retires, the next eligible team will take it's place
- All remaining teams plus any new additions to the league will be placed in
B Division
- All teams currently in either Dragon or Frog Conference will remain in
those conferences in their new division
- New teams will be seeded into the two conferences based on first on race
(races will be distributed as evenly as possible between the two conferences)
and then by random chance
Determination of Division/Conference Rank
after DragonBBL II
- The winner of the Soapy Cup will be promoted to A division
- Excluding the Soapy Cup winner the top team in each of Dragon and Frog B
Division will be promoted to A Division
- The bottom team in each of Dragon and Frog A Division will be demoted to B
Division
- Excluding the two bottom teams in each conference, the team in A Division
with the worst overall League Point total will switch places with the winner
of the Soapy Cup
- This means that every season 3 teams will be promoted to A Division and 3
teams will be demoted to B Division
- Retirements from A division will mean additional promotions from B
Division based on League Point total
- New teams joining division B may mean additional promotions to A Division
- Teams returning from retirement will be placed in the Division and
Conference they they were previously slated to be in had they continued
- If the returning team last played in DragonBBL I, they will be placed in a
Division A if they were team 1-4 in their conference and Division B if they
were team 5-8
- Returning teams may result in additional promotions of demotions based on
League Point totals
Schedule and Length
- We expect roughly 24 teams with 12 per division
- This means you can expect to play 16 regular season matches in as many
weeks
- The top 4 teams in each Conference A Division at the end of the regular
season will participate in the DragonBowl Playoff Tournament
- The top 4 teams in each Conference B Division at the end of the regular
season will participate in the Soapy Cup Playoff Tournament
Season Rules - DragonBBL II
Changes from Last Season - Bribes and Loans
- Teams may no longer loan money or transfer money in any way directly
between them
- Loans can be acquired from the Loan Shark, an entity who's sole job it is
to manage money
- Loan terms and interest rates will be set by the Loan Shark within certain
parameters
- Failure to replay a loan mean will have real consequences
- Apothecaries can no longer be rented
