Crusaders Win Again: Crusaders 4 Divas 0
Fouls were the name of the
game on Friday night as several players were ejected by unusually stringent
refs at the Crypt Crusaders' 4-0 victory over the Lustria
Divas. The Crusaders' were able to convert Divas possession
to Crusader touchdown late in the first half, and were subsequently able to
blitz the off-balance Divas with a midfield rush that netted them a second
touchdown just before the end of the half. The Crusaders' continued
aggressive play and the KO-plagued and now badly short-handed Divas defence
allowed them two more touchdowns early in the second half, but the battered
and bruised Divas managed to rally in the late game to avert further
disaster, finally bringing the play onto the Crusaders end of the pitch and
shutting down any further undead scoring attempts.
Despite both sides playing a strong blocking
game and the numerous fouls, the only serious injury of the match occurred
when Crusaders star Mummy Bhandayd was hit by a cinder block heaved from the
stands by overzealous Divas fans, fracturing his arm, causing him to miss
the rest of the match and likely also the upcoming match against the
Horny Babes. |

Slugging Match: Steins 1 Babes 0
It was a long, hard, grinding
match yesterday evening as the Frothy Steins faced down the winless
Horny Babes. The brawling action which saw both teams heavily
shorthanded by the end of the game see-sawed back and forth across the pitch
until rookie Steins runner Flash managed to score the game's only
touchdown midway through the second half. Despite a prodigious number
of KO'd and badly hurt players being carried off the field, both teams
managed to avoid any serious injuries or fatalities. When interviewed
post-match concerning the Horny Babes' difficulty in ball-handling, veteran
Chaos Warrior Poison Ivy said: "There
was a ball in play...?" |

Leaping Lizards: Machine 3 Barnacles 3
After a hard fought comeback
culminating with a spectacular touchdown with mere seconds left on the
clock, Lord Slitharus's Blistering Barnacles brought the score to 3-3 in
their match against Frog Machine. Despite home field advantage and an
early lead, the Machine's injury-plagued defence was not up to the task as
the Barnacles managed to convert Machine possession into a Barnacle
touchdown. Thanks to the efforts of the apothecaries, only one player
will be missing the next match, Frog Machine's rookie linerat Krasslik
Setzmo, who suffered a fractured arm during the Barnacles' powerful second
half blitz. Said coach Sopayfrog Nullest after the match:

League Management Changes Hands
Commissioner
Evil Bob has voluntarily stepped down, giving up the reins of power to the
newly appointed Commissioner Soapy. The change of power was
accomplished relatively smoothly, with only one quarter of league officials

Weekend Games: Crusaders 2 Barnacles 2, Bluebutts 2 Surly 0
Two games were played over the
weekend. The Crypt Crusaders and the Blistering Barnacles
fought each other to a standstill in front of 45,000 fans. The final score
was a 2-2 draw, and both teams suffered serious injuries to one of their
players. Both injuries occurred in the first half, as Crocodillus
Maximus was dragged off the field with a smashed ankle just after the first
kickoff, and the Wight Atro Fee of the Crusaders was seen being carried off
the pitch with a smashed collarbone during the Barnacles' first touchdown
drive. In the other match, the
undefeated Blargburg Bluebutts continued their winning streak,
beating Short & Surly 2-0 in a match in which the ball spent more
time on the pitch than in the hands of the players. The Bluebutts' victory
had it's tragic edge, however, as veteran Blitzer Jack Ass was pronounced
dead on the pitch during the 2nd half after being trampled under the hooves
of the aptly named Hoofgrinder and the Witch Elf Sum Dizzy Bitch tripped
over a blade of grass and shattered 6 ribs just before the final whistle. |

Machine 2 Divas 0 |
|
The Frog Machine
achieved their first victory today, winning 2-0 over the Lustria Divas.
A major riot, rumoured to have been started by adherents of the Great Frog,
spilled onto the pitch just after Skratsquick Terzo's successful end run.
The riot was put down by the 2nd Half kickoff, but it seriously damaged the
Divas chance for a comeback, a chance that was put out of reach by the
Machine's second touchdown late in the game. Both sides managed to
avoid serious injury, however, although there was one close call... Machine linerat Hakflem Dodezimo's heart stopped for several minutes after a
particularly severe block, but the Machine's apothecary came through and
Hakflem recovered and played the rest of the game. |
